How Elevated Temperature Detection Adds Security for Returning Employees
Managers: Minimize Staff Health Risks With AnyVision’s Temperature Screening Kiosks
If you’re like every other manager and property owner in the Austin, TX, area, you’re worried. You know you need to get back to business to stay profitable, and that often involves bringing more employees into the office. And more people inside one place, even with masks and social-distancing practices, involves risk.
Stop illness right at the door with elevated temperature detection systems! Temperature screening cameras like those from Avigilon and kiosks might prevent many ill employees, clients and vendors from entering your building: We’ll focus more on kiosks today. Stay tuned to see why we recommend this solution, which brand we install and more.

What’s AnyVision?
After 20+ years of field research and engineering research, AnyVision leads the biometrics business by providing state-of-the-art surveillance camera software for residences and companies. The company has refined facial recognition so well that they now make cameras that can detect emotion. And this year, AnyVision brought their temperature-detecting kiosk to an Israeli hospital for a test run to scan patients for COVID-19.
“In the future, we will be able to use this system wherever there are large public gatherings, like airports, stadiums and train stations and passively check who has a fever,” says COO Alex Zilberman.
Touch-Free Control
AnyVision’s system works by using thermographic (heat-mapping) camera technology to identify anyone who has a fever before they enter a building with a large number of people. Cameras can attach to a kiosk right at an entrance so that no febrile person makes it too far and endangers other people.
Best of all, the kiosk automatically measures when it detects human presence and doesn’t require you to touch any screens. Plus, the camera software works robustly enough to recognize fevers from a distance and scan multiple people simultaneously.
A person simply walks through the kiosk, and a thermographic scanner will read body temperature and produce results in approximately one second. And when simply measuring temperature isn’t enough, AnyVision provides a workaround through analysis of the heat patterns a body exhibits.
Astounding Accuracy
As all Texans know, you could be running a high temperature -- even one high enough to qualify as a fever -- just from taking a short walk outside. AnyVision systems use the heat pattern analysis mentioned above to differentiate between high temperatures caused by physical activity and those caused by illnesses like COVID-19. You’ll be able to distinguish harmful fevers at a glance and avoid false alarms.
It’s also important to note that temperature detection cameras don’t step into surveillance functions: Thermal cameras don’t collect identifying information, which avoids any privacy concerns inherent in business camera usage.
